My experience at this company was above and beyond from the time we entered there showroom the bed we chose was a hard rock and so far the best mattress I have ever had 5 nights of bliss sleep now the delivery man was lovely I had no one to take my bed upstairs it was not a problem for him to lift it up for me what a gentleman anyway they took us in the bk and I seen first hand the ghys making the mattress brilliant I will be bk with friends and family thank you for the kind staff letting us nearly falling asleep trying the beds out 😂🙋🏾♀️see you soon
I bought a King size Rock mattress from Carter and Lewis and I'm very happy with it. The mattress is properly firm, exactly as described, and provides great support while still being comfortable. I've been sleeping much better since switching to it. Overall, the quality feels excellent and it offers great value for money. I would definitely recommend this mattress if you prefer a firm and supportive sleep.

We purchased a Double Mattress from Carter and Lewis recently. The service was fantastic from start to finish. I have bought a Carter and Lewis mattress previously from a store in Scotland, but ordered the latest one from website directly. Honestly the mattress quality is brilliant, it's very fairly priced for the quality of product that you receive. Will definitely buy again

Most people with back pain do best on a supportive mattress that keeps the spine level. Our Gravity Cell (1500 pocket springs with a Gravity Cell layer, firmness 7–8/10) is a great place to start.
If you want something firmer, try the Sleep Master or HyCare Ortho (both 7–8/10), or The Rock (8–10/10) if you prefer very firm. Not sure? Take the Mattress Finder. If you have an ongoing back condition, ask your GP or physio for advice too.

Yes. You're welcome to visit our showroom and workshop on Holme Street, Liversedge, West Yorkshire, to lie on the mattresses and see them being made. Please get in touch before you visit so we can make sure someone is there to help.
We don't offer a home sleep trial, because every mattress is made to order and, for hygiene reasons, can't be resold once it has been used. If you buy online, you can still cancel within 14 days of delivery as long as the mattress is unused, unstained and sealed in its original packaging.
Every mattress is hand-made to order and delivered free within 5–7 working days of your order being confirmed. Need it sooner? Express delivery within 2–3 working days is available for £45.
We'll email to confirm your order, contact you with your delivery date once your mattress is made, and our driver will call you the evening before or the morning of delivery to arrange an exact time, so please leave your mobile number. We deliver to the UK mainland only (not Northern Ireland or the UK islands). See our Shipping & Delivery Policy.
Yes. We can take your old mattress away for £35 on the day we deliver your new one. Just add it when you order; it needs to be indoors, dry and free from stains, damp or pests.

Every Carter & Lewis mattress is made to order and hand-tufted in our workshop in Liversedge, West Yorkshire. Tufting holds the fillings firmly in place so they don't shift or lump over time.
We use natural fillings like wool and cotton, with cashmere, mohair and silk in our luxury models, over up to 1500 pocket springs, with Gravity Cell in many models. Natural fibres breathe and wick away moisture, so you sleep cooler and fresher.

Measure your bed frame before you order. Need something different? We can make bespoke sizes, but please note bespoke orders can't be cancelled once production has started.
With good care, a Carter & Lewis mattress typically lasts around 7–10 years. To get the most from it, use a mattress protector, rotate it every 3 months and make sure it sits on a solid, supportive base.
Every mattress is covered by our 5-year warranty against manufacturing faults, such as broken springs, dips deeper than 3cm or faults in the cover, on top of your statutory rights. Normal wear, changes in comfort and misuse aren't covered. If you spot a fault, email support@carterandlewis.co.uk with photos and your order number. Full terms are in our Returns & Warranty policy.
For online orders, you can cancel within 14 days of delivery as long as the mattress is unused, unstained and still sealed in its original packaging. Email support@carterandlewis.co.uk with your order number. You can return it yourself or we can collect it for £75, and we'll refund the mattress and standard delivery to your original payment method within 14 days.
We can't accept returns once a mattress has been unwrapped or slept on, or because of comfort preference, and bespoke orders can't be cancelled once production has started. If your mattress is faulty or not as described, we'll repair, replace or refund it under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and collect it free of charge. Your statutory rights are not affected.
